When Riri met Wizzy
Afrobeats Star Wizkid who is currently in the UK has made a MAJOR revelation. Speaking on his coming album, Wizzy revealed that he has songs for Rihanna on the highly awaited album. He revealed the news in a recent interview on the Capital Xtra show with DJ Abrantee dedicated to the promotion of his album. This confirmation backs reports in July that Wizkid was producing a song with the 26-year-old International pop artist.
It feels great to see one of our own go international, although it’s not such a rare thing any more as Afrobeats has undoubtedly conquered international airwaves with tracks from the likes of Fuse ODG, D’Banj and Tiwa Savage enjoying frequent airplay.
The singer stated “Yeah, I went to the studio to write something for her. She was in the studio as well, big shout out to Rihanna. We made something together; hopefully it gets picked. We’ll still do more stuff together. You know she’s a cool person. I’m going back to Los Angeles, so definitely I’m going to get back in the studio with her again.”
As well as this big news, the artist also confirmed something bigger during the interview. Wizkid confirmed that the song produced in collaboration with Chris Brown will be the first song on his upcoming album called “African Bad Girl”
Fans are patiently awaiting the upcoming album and we can only give a clap of praise as the artist rises to the top. During the Interview the artist also gives hints of Collaboration with Davido.
