Wedding Inspiration: Why You Should Have An Outdoor Wedding

For Nigerians living at home, outdoor weddings are very common as the weather is usually favourable and chances are the rains will be good to you on your special day. But even brides in Nigeria would incorporate a tent or Marquee into their plans when organising an outdoor wedding just to be on the safe side.

While this is practical, if you were a little more daring, you could do without the rentals altogether. Why not have a ‘proper outdoor wedding’, American style?

Nigerian brides in the UK would probably not be too keen on this idea as there are few things in life more fickle than the notorious British Weather. For those willing to take the risk, the outcome could be a memorable and unique ceremony.

The Sun shinning down on both of you as the breath of fresh air swirls around you, sending whispers down your veil.

Nothing is hidden, it’s all in the open and you are now both one in the eyes of nature and of course, your family and friends.

This is what this Nigerian couple Nia and Buki, who are based in the US opted for. This wedding was featured in American bridal magazine Munaluchi Bride and we’ve got some snippets that will wow and hopefully inspire you to try out an outdoor wedding.

If you’re a nature lover then, an outdoor wedding is definitely right up your street. The venue is beautiful and has loads of character and there are options for UK Brides with many Stately homes as well as Grade I and II listed homes. Check out this list here for a range of options in the UK.
