Oh the commotion!
Imagine you’re on hoilday in Venice minding your own business and then suddenly, there’s rows of boats all speeding past your water taxi in apparent chase…but of whom or what?
Well, that’s the question a lot of Venetians must have been asking when they were confronted by such scenes on Friday as George Clooney arrived the romantic city with fiancée human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin ahead of their wedding on Saturday.
The couple have reportedly planned a lavish four day ceremony to mark their nuptials with A list guests already descending on the city including Matt Damon and wife, Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber who will be best man to Clooney.
The couple were seen speeding away in the canals of Venice as paps and fans snapped away with the pair posing for the cameras and holding hands while not taking their eyes off each other.
Clooney 56 was hitherto arguably Hollywood’s eligible bachelor and it’s not to hard to see why British Lebanese lawyer Alamuddin (36) is the one who finally stole his heart if her beauty and style is anything to go by.
She arrived for the pre nuptials in a Dolce and Gabanna striped dress with Prada sunglasses and a stylish hat box from Venice.
Other guests expected to attend the wedding include newly weds Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie who recently slinked off to France to tie the knot.
It’s being reported that US Vogue have already secured the rights to the couple’s wedding for something north of a million dollars and guests have been asked not to bring mobile phones, but as we all know, pictures always manage to find their way out on the day and we’ll be keeping a close eye out for any snaps of the bride’s dress.
