This Bank Holiday weekend, Africa will literally be taking over London with three Afro themed shows back to back. As Curlvolution wraps up in Canary Wharf on Saturday, Afro Hair and Beauty Live begins on Sunday in Islington with Africa at Spitalfields bringing the fun to an end on Bank Holiday Monday. The excitement is all a bit too much for us to bear!
Afro Hair & Beauty Live
Afro Hair & Beauty LIVE is a lifestyle show for young black women taking place this May bank holiday on the 24th and 25th at the Business Design Centre. The exhibition, which showcases black hair and beauty products, has become the leaders for launching the freshest brands and trends. Verna McKenzie organiser of the Afro Hair & Beauty LIVE show says “We are delighted that Afro Hair & Beauty LIVE has established itself as Europe’s largest exhibition of its kind. Visitors come from all over the world to see what’s new and up and coming within the black hair & beauty industry. Top brands launching products at the event include Mazuri Shea Butter Naturalsmade in LA and using the latest technology formulated with all natural ingredients and Cantu, they will be showcasing their full range, which includes the number one selling Leave-In Conditioner in the USA. The brand has recruited top natural award-winning hair stylist, Anastasia Chikeze as their lead hair stylist. ORS will be launching new brands, Manoi Oil Tahitian Anti Breakage, New CurlsUnleashed and Shealicious.
Grace Kelly Organiser of Afro Hair & Beauty LIVE says, “The heartbeat of the show is still undoubtedly hair care, beauty and fashion, although over the years the show has changed and become more about lifestyle”. Healthy Lifestyle, run by Seventh Day Adventist church and the NHS are teaming up to provide free blood pressure, diabetes and HIV tests with the option to swab the mouth or prick the finger. They will also measure your BMI and advise on health, nutrition and alternative foods. There will be more of everything, more competitions, more give-aways, more fashion, more beauty and more hair.

Back for the fourth year, Curlvolution is one of the UK’s biggest black beauty events for women with natural hair. Featuring speakers including former Apprentice runner-up Bianca Miller top Afro hair bloggers Kluermoi and Jennell B Stewart as well as workshops on blogging and tips on making your natural hair journey an easier one.
There’ll also be natural haircare vendors exhibiting at the show, so you’ll get a chance to meet with the brands and get all your questions answered first hand!
