The popular cycling race came to the UK- Yorkshire for the first time this year and spectators turned out en masse to catch a glimpse of world class cyclists as they sped through the Picturesque Yorskshire landscape during stage three of the racing spectacle.
The route took the cyclists through Cambridge into London with fans in boroughs including Redbridge and Newham getting up close to the sporting action. Not everyone was thrilled about the event as road closures meant traffic was diverted and longer journey times for many on the commute back home from work.
For many of the spectators who lined the streets of Westminster as the Cyclists made their way to the Mall- some of whom had been waiting from the early hours, it was well worth the wait as loud cheers filled the air as the cycling tour made their way past.
Laetitia Atlan, a french medical student travelling through Britain who ironically had never been to the tour in her native France said the experience was ‘simply amazing’.
As usual, our team were live at Westminster to catch some of the action.
