Young Money, Old Problems (Lil Wayne)

For the last few months we’ve been hearing a number of issues surfacing from the Young Money record label. First, Tyga spoke about how he hated the label and said once he’s done, he’s walking away completely and now Lil Wayne seems to be going through the same thing .

Lil Wayne is reportedly suing Cash Money records and part founder Bryan Birdman William. Sources say the reason behind the lawsuit is due to the fact that the record label has yet to release Lil Wayne’s 11th studio album. Wayne now wants to be released from the record label.  He tweeted earlier this month that he believes Birdman is holding back C5 (Carter V) and that he wants nothing to do with ‘these people’. We’re also told that the long-term partnership between the two have come to an end as the Birdman and Lil Wayne haven’t been speaking for a while. Birdman has previously stated that the album will be released based on the label schedule.

It wasn’t that long ago Tyga had the same issues and was reported saying that he doesn’t want to be a part of the record label describing the label as ‘the devils playground’. So it seems like Cash Money won’t be so popular in 2015. I just hope that they find a way of releasing the Carter V album.

Bond is Black (Idris Elba)

In this week’s movie buzz there has been discussion about who is to be the next 007 and Idris Elba is leading the race against them all to replace Daniel Craig

Elba, best known for his role as Russell Stringer on hit TV series The Wire was hit with the Bond talk this week as majority of people agree and think Idris would be perfect to wear the name ‘Bond…James Bond’ with pride. But like I said, Majority, meaning there are those few out there who believe he isn’t right for the part which is perfectly understandable. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. But I am part of the majority who thinks it would be fantastic to have a Black 007, mostly because it’s different.

Idris Elba

Not many are on the same wave length as me. “British actor Idris Elba can’t play James Bond because he’s black.” Claimed Rush Limbaugh on his radio show Tuesday. “James Bond is a total concept put together by Ian Fleming. He was a white and Scottish. Period. That is who James Bond is, was.” Stated Limbaugh. By the sounds of it, this is something that really bothers Rush, however opinion or not, it can be taken as extremely offensive to say such statements, which he knew himself as he said “I Know its racist to probably point this out.” But that wasn’t the worse he then went on ranting by adding, “Casting Elba as Bond is like casting George Clooney as President Obama or Kelsey Grammer as Nelson Mandela.” He then ended his rant by saying we’re only playing here, nevertheless I’m not sure everyone will see it like that.

Hart the Whore (Kevin Hart)

When Sony was hacked recently, a lot of distressing emails regarding celebrities and private jokes between the executives were revealed. One of the most spoken about of the revealed mails is Kevin Hart being called a ‘Whore’. Hart was not amused by these statements and is now having second thoughts about working with Sony in the future.

Kevin Hart, Ride Along Red Carpet Premiere, Sydney Australia

Kevin Hart was asked where he stood with Sony when leaked emails revealed an Executive calling him a whore after the comedian requested more money for promoting his movie on social media. It was later revealed that Kevin was paid 2 million to tweet about the movies.  When Hart was out in Los Angeles and asked would he ever work with Sony again, he didn’t answer the question. Mr Hart is playing a smart game, at the end of the day, business is business. To call somebody a whore, be it in private or public is disrespectful and I agree with everything Kevin is about.

End of an Era (Nicki Minaj)

Nicki says goodbye to her long-term relationship of 12 years to Safaree Samuels. But reports reaching us suggest the split is apparently causing him to have suicidal thoughts. Sources say “He’s become a shut-in, spends days and nights smoking weed, and has talked openly about suicide,” TMZ reports. “Safaree is telling friends he won’t get in touch with Nicki because she’s now hooked up with Meek Mill. He says its torture for him, because he believes Meek Mills destroyed his relationship with Nicki over false claims he cheated.”

Meek Mill who is featured on Nicki new album The Pinkprint  has denied all rumours of him and Nicki being an item. Nicki also denied the accusations on air with Ryan Seacrest this week telling the presenter, “Let me clear this up: I am single,” Minaj stated “people are just assuming these things and I don’t know why. This is my friend I’m just hanging out. We don’t look at each other like that at all.”

Nicki has recently been speaking up about herself acknowledging the fact that she’s a woman and more than anything she wants to fulfil her duties as a woman and raise a family. For as long as she’s known herself she’s known she wanted to be a mother first and foremost.  Nicki also blamed her success and career for her failed relationship with Samuels; she said she blamed herself way more than she should.

Nicki Minaj has continued to keep us on the edge of our seats. Just when we think we have her figured out, we see a different side to her. I think people love to see vulnerability in celebrities, it sounds crazy but to see them suffer even with all the amazing things they have makes us all feel better. It makes us feel like they are ordinary and more relatable to us. Nicki for me is the woman to watch. She has dominated 2014 for many reasons and I hope 2015 brings nothing but happiness.
