First of all Happy New Year. Let me hit my weekly buzz off with a cinematic scoop which involves the new biblical movie Exodus. This movie tells the story of Moses, as he fights for the freedom of his people (Israelites), as they were about to be persecuted. A lot of controversy has followed the casting of this movie, people are furious with the chosen cast as they are not representative of the ethnicity and history of ancient Egypt. Critics have slammed the movie for lacking in accuracy to what is written in the Bible, but there are other reasons as to why particular countries have decided to ban the film.
Egypt is reported to be the second country to ban the movie. The culture minister of Egypt Gaber Asfour said, “The film wrongly contains the claim that Moses and the Jews built the Pyramids,” he then added “This totally contradicts proven historical facts,” he then concluded by saying “It is a Zionist Film… (which) gives Zionist view of history and contains historical inaccuracies and that’s why we have decided to ban it.”
The talented British film-maker Sir Ridley Scott directed Exodus, Staring Christian Bale. The £89.9m production has been at the wrong end of the stick for just taking too many liberties with the Bible. Christian’s reviewers are boiling over the main cast being mostly Caucasian. Head of the Censorship committee in Egypt, Mohammed Afifi, said “Further errors include the film portrayal of the parting of the Red Sea as a tidal phenomenon, rather than a divine miracle.” He also disagreed with the fact the Moses held a sword instead of a stick.
However, Egypt wasn’t the only place to ban the cinematic piece; Morocco banned it earlier this week too. The controversy began with another Biblical piece, Noah staring Russell Crow; this was another movie that was banned in several different countries including the Middle East. I have yet to see Exodus but I will be viewing the movie in order to draw a further opinion on it.
John Jolie Pit
Six Years later and there’s still a discussion on why Shiloh Jolie Pitt is dressed like a boy. last week, John (Shiloh) Jolie Pitt joined her father and brothers on the red carpet. John (Shiloh) Jolie Pitt was dressed in a black suit like her brothers. She quickly caught the eye of the media and discussions began. I personally think a child needs be a child. and to express their creativity otherwise it psychological issues could occur later on in their life, for a parent to embrace their child’s individuality and difference will most likely make it easier for the child to love them self.
While promoting The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in 2008 Brad Pitt did an interview on the Oprah Winfrey Show in which he talked about his relationship and promoted his up and coming movie at the time. He began to talk about Shiloh “She only wants to be called John,” Brad said. “John or Peter. So it’s a Peter Pan thing. So, we’ve got to call her John. ‘Shi, do you want –‘John. I’m John.’ And then I’ll say, ‘John would you like some orange juice?’ And she goes, ‘No!’ So, you know, it’s just kind of stuff that’s cute to parents, and it’s probably really obnoxious to other people.”
Looking and reading other people’s opinions tells me that as humans we’re simply evolving and growing and that the media is being sensitive to a child growth. Amber Rose known for being the spouse of Wiz Khalifa and former lover of Kanye West spoke out this week on the Young John (Shiloh) Jolie Pitt, she praised the beloved couple Brad and Angelina, she posted a Picture of John (Shiloh) Jolie Pitt at the premiere of her mother’s new movie this week with the caption “How gorgeous is John Jolie Pitt?” Amber continued expressing her admiration … “Born into the perfect family for him.” I think it’s great that Amber shows her support for little Shiloh but for me she over stepped the mark by using “#TransKids” but her intentions were good. Angelina and Brad seem like great parents, they’re supportive and embracing and every child deserves that in life.
Kanye can’t keep up with the Kardashians
Seems like Kanye is having a bit of trouble sticking around for family events. For the last couple months we’ve heard that Kim and Kanye are struggling through their relationship. Kim said ‘hell no’ to this as she simply wants those rumours to stay in 2014,
Kim took to twitter early New Years day and tweeted “lets clear up some rumours before the new year…. I’m bored looking online and seriously don’t know where they come up with this stuff!” she continued with “No I’m not pregnant.” “Kanye & I are not having marriage problems. Were literally obsessed with each other!” she added “The Wests are cooking, watching movies and just relaxing tonight. Best way to ring in the new year! Hope you are all safe and having fun! Xo.” Kim then shared her view about Kanye West’s new song Only One featuring Paul McCartney tweeting “People always ask me what my favourite Kanye song is and it’s only One. Kanye feels his mom sang thru him to our daughter.”
I am personally a big fan of the Wests and I wish them all the best Kanye seems like a complex guy so I think even if we wanted to we’d probably find it hard to understand Mr West. To me they seem to be really in love and look as if they sincerely care about and for one another.
