From recent posts, I have talked about the amazing benefits of using a serum day and night before your moisturiser.
It’s convenient to buy ready-made ones from your favourite brands, but why not experiment by making your own? Here’s a recipe for one that works wonders for me and is really easy to make. As always, please make sure you research the ingredients to make sure you’re not allergic to them
70% aloe vera gel– Aloe Vera is well respected for its application as a moisturizing agent. It contains vitamin B complex, folic acid, Vitamin C and Carotene (a precursor of vitamin A). It’s also full of amino acids .
20% organic avocado oil– Avocado oil contains Vitamins A, B1, B2, D, E, and Beta Carotene. It is a monosaturated oil making it nourishing and suitable for dehydrated, sun exposed and dry skin. It is also known to have regenerative and rejuvenating properties and it significantly increases the amount of collagen in the skin. It has been known to be effective in helping reduce the itchiness and discomfort associated with some skin conditions.
8% coconut oil– coconut oil is a superfood. It’s unique combination of fatty acids can have profound positive effects on health.
2% chamomile oil– Chamomile has a long tradition in herbal medicine. The flowers were used in many cures including an herbal tea to cure insomnia. It’s very soothing and calming to the skin .
