Bet you didn’t know Uncle Snoop could paint too hmm?
Snoop Dogg has partnered with Swedish accessories and underwear brand Happy Socks to create a new line of socks inspired by his ‘art’.
In a project called ‘The Art of Inspiration’, Happy Socks have given Snoop a platform to express himself through painting- A medium the rapper says allows him to express himself in a way rap can’t.
In a promo video for the collaboration, a shirtless Snoop (surrounded a times by a group of scantily clad ladies, true to form) is seen painting on a canvas and it actually looks like he’s not only enjoying painting, but is actually great at it.
He says in the video, “I’ve always felt like painting was something I wanted to do, but I just never had time to do it.”
“Sometimes the music in my life don’t explain exactly what I’m going through, so [painting] is another piece of the puzzle,”
Snoop further reveals that although he’s first love is rap, there are some things he couldn’t say or do when rapping, but painting gives him a freedom to relieve memories of experiences he’s been through in the past which he expresses in his use of colour and strokes.
Snoop will be using his artistic talent to create three different designs for ‘Happy Socks’ that depict the rappers three personalities- The Gin and Juice Snoop, Snoop the Rastafarian and Snoop the artist.
We can’t wait to see what he comes up with.
