The highest grossing movie in the world…ever, Avatar is to get three more sequels.
Plans to begin filming for Avatar 2, 3 and 4 have already been drawn up by the movie’s Director James Cameron who also confirmed that Weaver- whose character died in the first instalment, will be returning in the forthcoming sequels, but as a different character.
Telling the media of his long-standing relationship with the actress, Cameron said that the 64-year-old will be playing a ‘more challenging’ role in the series and that both were “looking forward to the latest chapter in their long running collaboration.”
Other stars confirmed in the line up include human turned Avatar Sam Worthington (Jake Sully), Zoe Saldana and army villain Stephen Lang who plays Colonel Quaritch.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the untitled sequels will be filmed back to back with the first one scheduled for release in 2016 and the next one in 2017.
