You might find it odd that 1. there’s an association of Nigerian witches in Nigeria 2. Far from lurking in dark shadows in the middle of the night as we’re made to believe, they are actually issuing Press statements. But the Witches and Wizards Association Of Nigeria (WIZAN) released a statement on Saturday where they predicted the outcome of the 2015 presidential elections.
The statement signed by the group’s president Dr Okhue Iboi was obtained by Nigerian news website Trentonline. In it, the group warned opposition party APC stalwart Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu of a possible revolt from decamped members of PDP in his camp.
Stating that the former Lagos State Governor will be betrayed by top members of the party shortly before the elections, WITZAN claim the consequences of the betrayal could be so great, the senator could lose his entire political empire.
“Many top notchers of PDP that are in APC now will go back to PDP. Witches said so in November last year and it happened,” said Oboi.
“I’m telling the whole world again today that many former PDP leaders that are now in APC will betray Tinubu and other APC leaders, they will go back to PDP this year, and before the 2015 general election. This betrayal will affect his political empire. Tinubu’s political dynasty is under threat of crumbling,’’ the group stated.
In further warnings, Oboi advised APC to stop wasting resources and energy as ruling party PDP would win the next election. The group predicted President “Jonathan will win re-election although there will be pockets of violence.”
“They should go home and rest, and forget about becoming President or Vice President of Nigeria. APC will still lose more governors to PDP before this year runs out,” he proclaimed.
Tinubu was not the only one with bad news in store for him. Newly turbaned Emir of Kano Sanusi Lamido Sanusi who was unceremoniously ousted from his position as CBN Governor should not sleep with both eyes closed yet urged the group.
The witches stated, “What we see before Sanusi is myriad of woes; his road will be rough. Turbulent days lie ahead of him, he should not rejoice yet.”
They also said that the Emir, “will experience trouble within and outside the emirate,” adding that he’s ‘stepped on a lot of toes.’
It’s not all about politicians though as WIZAN say the current security situation in the country is a cause for worry as the group recently held a meeting after a distress call by witches from Borno, Adamawa and Yobe.
“As stakeholders in the Nigerian project, we can no longer afford to fold our hands while the nation burns. Enough is enough.”
