Panic As Passenger Slumps And Dies At Lagos Airport

The Arrival Hall of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport  was yesterday thrown into great panic as one of the passengers slumped and died.

The Passenger was said to have slumped while waiting for his vaccination card which is known as “yellow card” at the  office of the Port Health Services. The incident caused other passengers and staff at the hall to flee from the scene in fear that he was infected with Ebola Virus.

People were immediately stopped  from going into the hall as they were redirected  to pass another route while his body was covered  with an orange cloth  and left unattended to.

According to PUNCH Newspaper, it was gathered the man was on his way to Ghana for Medical Treatment before he suddenly slumped and died at the Airport.

However, the General Manager, Corporate Commission of the  Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, Mr Yakubu Dati, in a Statement released provided the deceased’s name as Mr Akkune Osei. The Statement further went ahead to inform the General Public that an Accra based Nigerian who boarded an Arik Flight to Lagos for Business Transaction on Friday August 8 2014 has died at  Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos on his way back to Accra.

The Statement also mentioned that the passenger whose name was Osei took ill on Saturday august 9 and started stooling. He called his Doctor in Accra  when the situation got worse and was asked  to return to Ghana immediately for treatment,  but he couldn’t  make it to Accra before  he slumped and died during the boarding  formalities at the Airport.
