Omawumi Drops New Video- ‘Megbele’

Singer Omawumi has released a brand new video for her new single ‘Megbele’.

Omawumi, who is known for her more traditional approach to the Nigerian entertainment scene did not fail to impress the viewers in this video which was performed in honour of Chief Frank Amirejotitse Megbele.

She takes us on a journey and shows us the beauty of Warri in a way that we’ve never seen before featuring clips of her family home, her alma mater and typical Itsekiri traditions.

The video also features cameo appearances from her mother, Mrs. Queen Aya Megbele, Daddy Showkey and comedians Gordons and Bovi. The song is performed in her language and also in English and she is able to match content to sound which makes it a classic piece from the mum of one.

Omawumi Megbele shot to fame in 2007 when she contested in the West African Idol talent show, where she came runner- up in the competition won by Timi Dakolo. Since then, she has released two albums. The first being ‘Wonder Woman’ which she released in 2009. She later released her second album, ‘The Lasso of Truth’ in 2013 which has become a commercial success.

The 32 year old has created a niche for herself in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry. She has also branched into acting and those that see her work can testify that she is made for the top.  Be the judge and watch Omawumi in action as she takes you on a journey to her hometown.
