Gospel singer Kefee Obareki popularly known as ‘Kefee‘ is reportedly receiving care in hospital after entering a coma.

The Branama singer was on a flight en route Chicago from Lagos when she collapsed prompting the pilot to land in Los Angeles so she could receive emergency care.

The incident happened last week and the singer supposedly posted a note on her social media account, thanking fans and saying she was better.

Now, her husband who has just arrived in the US to be with his wife has called on all Nigerians to pray for his wife’s recovery as she’s in coma.

In a statement released to popular blogger Linda Ikeji’s tabloid blog, Teddy Don Momoh Esosa , an on air personality and media professional, said he couldn’t give concrete details about his wife’s condition but said that the singer ‘loved her fans’ and asked them to ‘pray for her.’

“Kefee wants her friends, fans and well-wishers to know that she loves them. We just need prayers now; she just needs our prayers now because there is nothing God cannot do; prayer is the key. God is still the same yesterday, today and forever, He has done it before and he will do it again,’’ he said.

According to their publicist, the pair had just obtained a diploma in film making from an American University and were said to be working on some new projects, one of which included Kefee’s new video directed by her husband.

Kefee shot to limelight with her hit single ‘Branama’, a song sang in the local Delta dialect whih warmed her into the hearts of many with her unique style and signature curls.

She has since carved a niche for herself with contemporary lyrics and style establishing herself as one of Nigeria’s most successful Gospel singers.

She is also a songwriter and dancer and a United Nations ambassador for peace.

Here’s hoping she gets better soon.
