Nigerian beauty beats 8, 500 women to land Boots Magazine cover- with no Photoshop

With the Beyonce L’Oreal ad Photoshop saga going on, it’s refreshing to see that elsewhere in the world, women, especially black women are embracing and celebrating their natural beauty, flaws and all.

British based Nigerian Ijeoma Kalu entered the Boots cover star competition along with 8, 500 other women in a bid to appear on the cover of the retailer’s March issue.

Unretouched. Beautiful Ijay on the cover of Boots magazine

Ijeoma, fondly called Ijay was expectedly excited on hearing she was the final chosen one of the four amazing women shortlisted for the London Photoshoot. “We had so much fun during that shoot, and I’d never done anything like it before”, gushed an excited Kalu.

What makes her cover even more interesting is that it appears on the magazine as it was originally photographed, with no editing done on it whatsoever. It’s fair to say there was no editing necessary anyway, look how beautiful she is!

We say congrats to Ijay, well done.
