Naomi Campbell Interviewing Sadiq Khan Is The Best Thing You’ll Watch Today

Who knew Naomi Campbell and Sadiq Khan had so much in common?

The much awaited start of Edward Enninful’s reign at British Vogue is finally here (#NewVogue is now a thing) and it’s literally caused an Armageddon in the publishing world. As the December issue (the first to be edited by Enninful) drops tomorrow on newsstands with Adwoa Aboah on the cover, we’re giving a taste of what’s to come as none other than British supermodel Naomi Campbell interviews…wait for it… London Mayor Sadiq Khan!

We know what you’re thinking, but you will be pleasantly surprised to know that journalism is apparently one of the hidden talents of the 47-year-old icon, and apparently, #NewVogue is interested in fashion just as much as culture. Looking sharp in a grey suit for her meeting at City Hall, Campbell had impressively done her research, quizzing the Mayor about being the City’s first Muslim Mayor amidst an uprise in terrorism influenced by radicalisation. The two also exchange memories about the good old days growing in South London and what it was like growing up in London as children of immigrants, with both agreeing that Britain has come a long way with regards to embracing diversity.

We gleaned from the interview that Khan began his political career at around the same time Campbell got her first modelling gig and both are roughly the same age. Did they discuss any serious stuff? Brexit was of course high on the agenda, with Sadiq Khan warning that the London economy would suffer should EU citizens pack up and leave.

We have to give it to Naomi for asking the question which has been on everyone’s minds since he won the Mayoral elections in 2016; Will he run for Prime Minister? “No”, said Khan, insisting “I have the best job in the world.”

Shame that.
