M&S Celebrates Style and Diversity in New Spring Summer Campaign-Featuring Alek Wek and Baroness Doreen Lewis

High street store Marks and Spencer launched their new SS14 collection campaign yesterday to much aplomb.

The campaign,is the second of the ‘Leading Ladies’ series which launched last autumn with Ellie Goulding, Nicola Adams and Tracy Emin amongst the line up.

This year’s campaign  features not only one super model, but inspirational women from different backgrounds including acting, science and singing.

The ladies in the campaign include Baroness Doreen Lawrence, campaigner and mother of murdered teenager Stephen Lawrence, super model Alek Wek, actress Emma Thompson, singer and HIV/AIDS campaigner Annie Lennox, designer Lulu Kennedy, singer Rita Ora, chef Rachel Khoo and wait for it…..an engineer Roma Agrawal.

The high street chain unveiled more photos from the campaign today which shows the ladies posing in picturesque parts of the British country side in shots taken by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz.

The stunning photos show the women modelling outfits from the M&S spring summer collection.

The high street chain has clearly taken a leaf of runway trends with lots of whites, monochrome and grey designs.

A spokesperson for M&S told the Daily Express, “Our SS14 campaign is a celebration of style and accomplishment,”

“These dynamic Leading Ladies represent the unique and diverse women of a modern Britain. They are united in their extraordinary achievements but confident in their differences.

“Marks & Spencer is a democratic brand which is relevant to women of all ages and strands of life; it is therefore natural for M&S to celebrate women in this way”.

“M&S is extremely proud to have convened such an extraordinary group of exceptional women; this campaign is the embodiment of true British style, quality, diversity and success”, they concluded.

The collection launches around Britain on the 31st of March.
