Sportswear at H&M just got stylish!
The much-anticipated collaboration between H&M and Alexander Wang is almost here and the European retailer just keeps baiting us with snippets of the collection.
Previous collaborations have involved high-profile celebrities and fashion designers such as David Beckham, Jimmy Choo, Karl Lagerfeld and Beyoncé and now, Alexander Wang is next to début his 2014/2015 collection for H&M.
H&M released an Instagram video with the caption “Taking sportswear to the next level! Get ready for #ALEXANDERWANGxHM”. The video teases fans of H&M clothing about what is exactly included in the collection. Snippets of clothes can be seen in the video, ankle boots, sports leggings, a crop top and arm-bands with the designer’s name printed across.
Photos from the collection have already appeared online with top models including Joan Smalls pictured wearing pieces from the collection.
Wang has also released his new perfume called ‘Balenciaga” today. During his interview with InStyle Magazine, Wang described the perfume scent as “a mixture of violet green leaves, Edamame and cashmeran wood.” He also stated that the perfume “reflects a casual elegance that’s not too precious”.
The designer has been busy promoting the launch of his perfume, but has kept quiet about his campaign collection for H&M, although the fashion line is bound to be a huge success due to Wang’s reputation in the fashion industry.
However this week H&M has been under scrutiny in the media industry due to promoting a khaki green jumpsuit, in the same style that is worn by Kurdish female army fighters. The model used for the jumpsuit completes the outfit with a waist belt and ankle boots, this is similar to how the female army fighters wear their uniform. H&M denied promoting any similarities to the Kurdish female fighters today.
Alexander Wang’s collection for H&M will be out on the 6th of November 2014.
