Stella McCartney showcased her brand new Summer/Spring 2015 womenswear collection in Paris Fashion Week on Thursday to a star [acked audience including Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who’d just flown in from the Clooney wedding in Venice.
The British designer closed the show with pal and hot in demand model Cara Delevingne who modeled McCartney’s final piece from her collection although her friend Jordan Dunn also walked the catwalk for the designer.
The designer also made sure that she kept her fans well updated with a live stream of the show so that they wouldn’t miss a thing.
The clothes featured on the catwalk was elegant, formal and extremely feminine. There was nudes and pastels highlighted across the collection as well as cut-outs and body-hugging dresses.
This collection stands out from Stella’s previous designs due to the softness of the colours and the emphasis on evening wear for SS15.
Hints of upcoming trends for 2015 was on show, as the models wore huge gold statement necklaces. Cami straps and lace inserts was also highlighted on the catwalk.
Floral patterns are always a favourite for Spring/Summer fashion, but this year Stella did things differently, instead of using bright floral designs, she used subtle images of nature in soft tones.
At the end of the show the designer came out in a grey oversized cable knit jumper and casual peg trousers as she reportedly gained a successful round of applause from the crowd, although not all would have too pleased about her speech explaining the collection celebrated the ‘softness of a woman’, which feminist groups have taken as a dig at strong assertive women.
