It’s day three of London Fashion Week SS15 and the names are getting bigger, with Vivienne Westwood, Mulberry, Paul Smith,
Mulberry has truly been inspired by the English country garden as florals take lead stage (delphiniums in particular). We saw florals on elegant day dresses, lace blouses and glittery cardigans. The dresses were layered under parkas and cute, glittering cardigans – who said cold weather meant you had to look frumpy? And to top it all off, each look was paired with The Delphie – with the useful lengthening straps, the bag was transformed into a clutch, satchel and a handbag!
Marios Schwab brought sexy draping, fluid lines and a simple colour palette. The jumpsuit was in a stunning black silk and created feminine lines and shapes, even the shift dress had been transformed; the cut out hem and shoulders gave the classic piece a modern, new touch. Blue, cream, white and black dominated the catwalk; the simple colours reflected the effortless pieces.
Think: holographic fabrics, fibre optic glow in the dark dresses and metal. Richard’s heavenly layering and draping brought an ethereal sex appeal in the shape of maxi dresses and camisole tops. The lines were clean and the contrasting fabric was designed to compliment. The highlight of the show was the fibre optic slip dress, which illuminated and glowed on the darkened catwalk.
