Prince William wined and dined a crop of celebrities including American Designer Ralph Lauren at the historic Windsor Castle last night.
The glamorous event was held in aid of the work of Royal Marsden Hospital, a specialist cancer treatment centre where the prince is president.
Ralph Lauren who led the pack of superbly dressed guests(mostly all in his designs) is heavily lending his weight to the charity, pledging to fund a new cancer centre at the hospital,
Speaking to the Duke of Cambridge at the event, the legendary designer who attended the event with most of his family told the Prince that he had been looking at ‘other possible projects’ before finally choosing the Prince’s one to which William replied ‘You’ve chosen well’, reports the Daily Mail.
The designer has been a long supporter of cancer charities, even previously working with Princess Diana on past projects.
Most guests would have been disappointed at the absence of the Duchess of Cambridge but we expect that she’s still probably on baby sitting duties and also, this is Prince William’s charity and her presence could possibly have distracted from the main aim of the event which is to highlight the great work being done by the charity.
Celebrities that added a bit of sparkle and glitz to the event included Sherlock’s Benedict Cumberbatch, Helena Bonham Carter, Cate Moss and Emma Watson.
British Vogue Editor Alexandra Schulman who reportedly helped in selecting the guest list introduced staff of the Royal Marsden hospital to their latest benefactor.
The centre being sponsored by the designer will be named the Ralph Lauren centre and will hopefully help in the amazing work being carried out by the hospital in fighting cancer.
