100 of the world’s most influential people gathered at the Lincoln Center in New York last night for the Times 100 Gala. The prestigious event celebrates the most influential people on the magazine’s annual Times 100 list. Honorees typically range from politicians to celebrities, activitists, business and thought leaders and this year was no different.
With Kanye as the leading man appearing on the coveted issue cover, the 2015 Times 100 honorees included everyone from Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Bring Back Our Girls campaigner Oby Ezekwesili to British actress Emma Watson, reality star and Mrs West Kim Kardashian, musician Tim McGraw and transgender activist Laverne Cox.

After a star studded elegant red carpet, Kanye West and country star Tim McGraw performed for the crowd with West taking over the stage for 20 minutes for an art infused performance.
Surrounded by half naked men whose chests were painted white (like himself), the 37 year old rapper started off his set with James Brown’s It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World, working his way through songs from his new album ‘So help Me God’.
