According to a new survey, the answer is yes. Apparently, just donning a pair of sheer stockings could boost your confidence in the bedroom and out by a mile. And surprisingly, it’s actually older women who are in on this little secret.
We’ve always known that wearing sexy lingerie could boost one’s confidence dramatically, but now, we have concrete proof. A whooping 93.2% of women surveyed by Chanos Hosiery felt that wearing stockings made them feel sexy. The same percentage also felt that their partners found stockings sexy.
In 2007, a survey conducted by the same brand revealed that 25% of women had never worn stockings, that figure has now dropped to just 12%.
Most women opt for the traditional (and warmer) option of tights when shopping for lingerie, but it appears more women are turning to this sexy undergarment as they get more body confident. Which would explain why it is more popular amongst middle aged women, who are less likely to have self esteem issues, although younger ladies are by no means oblivious to its benefits.
77% of 18-24 year old’s polled say they would feel sexy in a pair of stockings, yet 25% of them admitted to only wearing them once a year.
The most popular by far seem to be the sexy hold ups with 93% of women surveyed favouring them over normal stockings.
Sometimes being a woman can be tough! What do women do to make themselves feel sexy? 37% of 18-24 year old’s do their hair and make-up, however nearly half of the women over the age of 25 slip into some ultra-sexy hosiery- even when they know nobody’s going to see it.
With all the hype surrounding the release of raunchy- ish flick, Fifty Shades if Grey, it’s not surprising that more and more women are looking to unleash their ‘inner goddess’ by buying and wearing hosiery that makes them feel sexy even when no one is going to see it. If you are looking to amp things up behind closed doors this Valentine’s day, at least you’ve now got one more piece to add to your armoury.
Just don’t only leave it until Valentine’s Day.
