How to create your own DIY facial serum and make up remover

by Temitope Beesley– Beauty Editor

I love making organic products for my skin and hair.

I get to try out lots of luxury products in the course of my work. Some I pay for and some I get sent by companies to review. But I’ll tell you what, there is nothing like a good old DIY when it comes to skincare.

You get a feeling of satisfaction knowing you created this little gem and the fact that you know exactly what goes in it makes it that much more luxurious.

A high quality luxury serum can cost up to £50, but this easy to make DIY serum that I made is less than £5 so it really is worth taking the time to try to create your own bespoke facial makeup remover/serum if you can spare a few minutes.

This simple recipe has improved my skin so much within the last few weeks that I had to share it with you!

It is also made of ingredients you will probably find in your kitchen cabinet. Here are the ingredients and quantities I used to create my DIY serum.

  • 100ml extra virgin olive oil
  • 10 drops of tea tree oil
  • 5 drops of camomile oil
  • 5 drops of ylang ylang

You can use this as an oil cleanser, makeup remover or night oil for glowing, soft, radiant skin in the morning.

I use it in the morning or when I need to remove my makeup and as well as when my skin is feeling extra dry.

To achieve optimal results use for at least 4 weeks.

*Please use this at your own discretion and consult with a physician if unsure about anything.
