Holidays are on hold as Americans protest the death of Michael Brown and Eric Garner

A Twitter Timeline

We may not be in the US, but thanks to Social Media, we’re able to keep up with what’s going on in the US during this very tumultuous time in the country’s history. American police have been under huge scrutiny and have been heavily criticised for using excessive force against young African- American men. After two Jury’s in different states declined to prosecute the two officers involved in the death of Michael Brown (Ferguson) and Eric Garner (Staten Island), protesters have been marching everyday since the announcement last week and there’s no sign the protests are about to let up. If anything, they seem to be gathering momentum.

It’s interesting to note that everyone, both white and black and people from every ethnic background have thrown their weight behind the #BlackLivesMatter campaign.

Here’s a Twitter timeline from today’s protests.
