Top of the list for most Google celebrities is Jennifer Lawrence, who’s hacked iCloud account saw a series of nude pictures leaked unto the internet. next in line was of course Kim Kardashian West, thanks to her risqué fashion choices, her Vogue cover with husband Kanye West and of course, her attempt to break the Internet, re her semi nude cover for Paper Magazine.
Actor Robin Williams also topped the list of trending searches after his sad demise earlier this year. His sudden death was a blow to many fans for whom the veteran comedian was part of their childhood. Williams beat searches for the World Cup which was hosted by the beautiful city of Rio this year. Third in the list is Ebola, the epidemic that has griped West Africa and is responsible for the death of over 4, 000 people so far this year alone.
Ebola topped the list of global news searches, coming on top of searches related to ISIS, and Malaysia Airlines, whose aircraft disappeared without explanation earlier in the year with scores of people on board unaccounted for.
Maya Angelou came fifth on the list category of people we lost this year, after Robbie Williams (1st), Phillip Seymour Hoffman (2nd), with Peaches Geldof and Shirley Temple coming 3rd and 4th respectively.
Apple had another bumper year with the iPhone 6 coming up in the top searched terms under technology with bitter rival the S5 coming a close second.
In the world of fashion, you’d expect either Cara Delevingne or Kendall Jenner to come tops in the search list, but this threw a surprise. American actress and model Kate Upton beat both models who never fail to make headlines daily) to the top spot.
