Gone Too Soon- Queen Of Nigerian Gospel Scene Kefee Dies After Coma

We’re really sad to bring you the news of the death of Nigerian gospel singer ‘Kefee’ Obareki Don Momoh, who passed away at a US hospital this morning.

According to her UK publicist Adeline Adebayo who confirmed the news in a statement released to the Nigerian press, the singer died as a result of lung failure after falling into a coma about 2 weeks ago.

In the last few weeks, Kefee reportedly collapsed on a US bound flight and the singer was said to be grateful to fans who attended to her after the incident.

Shortly after, her husband who flew to the US to be with his wife last week sent an SOS for people to pray for his wife so she could wake up from the coma.

Sadly, this wasn’t meant to be.

Kefee will be remembered for her 2003 hit ‘Branama’ which propelled her into the limelight. With her signature hairstyle and unique voice, she set herself apart from other artists in the gospel scene with creative videos and a shrewd sense of style.
