Fleur East apologises to Mark Ronson after her cover of ‘Uptown Funk’ proves a hit ahead of its official release

Sometimes, you can actually be too good for your own good

X Factor finalist Fleur East has apologised to Mark Ronson after her cover of his hit song with Bruno Mars ‘Uptown Funk’ went all the way to number 1 on iTunes after her sensational performance at the X Factor semifinals.

The bookies favourite to win the show, Fleur wowed judges and the public with her confident, sassy rendition of the song which was not yet officially released at the time of her performance.

Now, Ronson has had to push forward the release of the official song, initially scheduled for release in January 2015 due to it’s huge popularity. The only question now is which version will the public be buying?

Ever the humble professional, Fleur said,  “Yeah I’m really sorry but all I can say is it’s props to all their creative hard work because it’s an amazing song.”

“I don’t know what they were thinking in their minds. I don’t think anyone expected my performance to be as popular as it was,” she added.

Fleur faces the final of the X Factor this weekend with Ben Haenow and Italian fuzzy bear Andrea Faustini.

In case you missed it, here’s Fleur in all her funky glory.
