This year will see the launch of the first and official Mr and Miss Igbo UK pageant competition. The grand finale will take place in August in London where contestants will take to the stage and runway to win the honorary title.
Contestants will be judged based on their poise, passion and articulacy. They will present themselves to the distinguished judges and they will have the opportunity to share their talents and beauty to the UK and the world. The pageant rounds include eveningwear, swimwear and traditional wear.
Although the pageant is open to both male and females of Igbo origin, the live show is open to all. Mr and Miss Igbo UK is about educating as much people as possible about the Igbo culture and traditions, as well as celebrating the unity of the UK Igbo community.
Superstar Nigerian headline acts are due to perform at the live pageant in addition to UK based Afrobeats sensations Mazi Chukz ‘Ebeano’ and Grimahh aka Mr Bia.
Top model and actress Sarah Okereke is on board and with her experience and achievements, Mr and Miss Igbo UK are pleased to praise her as an Igbo Role Model.
Heels4Africa will also be launching at the Mr and Miss Igbo UK 2015 live event, which is a UK based project where unwanted heels are turned into aid for disadvantaged African children affiliated charities.
