“Families Have Problems And We’re No Different”- Beyonce and Jay Z Break Silence Over Leaked Video

When celebrity website TMZ released elevator footage of the sister-in-law to the most powerful couple in the music industry physically assaulting her brother-in-law, all hell…….expectedly broke loose.

The leaked video which shows Beyoncé walking into the elevator after the Met Gala, closely followed by husband Jay Z clearly shows Solange launching an attack on Jay Z barely seconds after she entered the elevator with the couple.

Thankfully, the rapper’s bodyguard was on hand to stop Solange inflicting any permanent damage during her ferocious assault.

Allegedly, the attack followed after the pair were involved in a spat during the dinner after Jay Z’s bodyguard told him that Solange’s friends were trying to use his name to get into the Met Gala after party.

Jay Z reportedly told Solange not to use his name and this probably tipped the singer over the edge.

In a joint statement recently released to the Associated Press by the Knowles-Carter family, the couple say they’re just like every other family and even they have problems too.

“Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”

“The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false. At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”

This was in response to claims by some websites that the attack was fuelled by alcohol as Solange was also involved in another public altercation on the night with designer Rachel Roy who is said to be a close pal of Kim Kardashian’s.

Solange has reportedly not been happy with her brother-in-law after claims he has yet to fulfil a promise to help her re launch her music career which is still fledgling.

A talented star in her own right, Solange has always been in sister Beyonce’s shadow despite being well-respected in the industry for her song writing and singing.

Celebrity websites are reporting that the singer may be upset because her upcoming album which is due to be released very soon hasn’t been generating any buzz in Hollywood.

Despite Solange’s insistence in the past that despite her sister’s jaw dropping success, the was no jealousy between the sisters, this altercation may have provided rare insights into the lives of the carefully guarded Carters affairs.

The video does however show that the sisters are extremely close as Beyoncé can be seen being pretty languid about an attack that would have shocked any other person, simply looking on as her sister continuously hit her husband, sparking further rumours that she has witnessed this sort of behaviour from her sister in the past.

Jay Z’s face as they exited the elevator said it all as Beyonce further showed her allegiance to her sister by reportedly leaving in the same car with her as they left the Met Gala.

The family initially seemed unperturbed by all the media frenzy surrounding the leaked video as the sisters were seen on holiday together barely days after the video leaked.

Meanwhile, the Standard Hotel in New York where the incident took place has fired the person in charge of the video recording on the night saying in a statement “We are shocked and disappointed that there was a breach of our security system and confidentiality we count on providing our guests.”

It goes on to say, “We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline the individuals involved to our fullest capacity.”
