The Notting Hill Carnival

Held each August Bank Holiday since 1966, the Notting Hill Carnival is the largest festival celebration of its kind in Europe. Very popular amongst Nigerians, it features a colourful display of sounds, sights and smell of the Afro Carribean community. Get your fill of  jerk chicken from Mama’s jerk station and visit the Nigerian stand while soaking up the vibrant atmosphere. Make sure you plan your route in detail and keep your belongings close though, the carnival can get very rowdy a times.

The best thing about it is that its free!

Ankara Festival 2012

Get all your best ankara out! The annual fashion show returns for another consecutive year and promises to be even bigger and better than previous shows. The London show will hold on Sunday, 26th August 2012 at IF Bar, 71 Ilford Hill  Ilford, Essex IG1 2DG. 

Time: 4pm – 4am.





Love Afrobeats Festival

This Bank Holiday is really packed with exciting stuff for Nigerians in the capital. Naija’s dynamic duo…P-Square will be storming London for the love Afro-beats festival at HMV Apollo on the 26th of August too. For tickets, go to Standard seats go for about £25.









Africa Unplugged

Labelled the biggest African musical festival in Europe ever. This event which will be hosted by Eddie Kadi is being held in support of two African charities, save the children and world child. With an impressive line up of great African artists including 2Face Idibia from Nigeria, Zahara from South Africa, Sarkodie from Ghana, Femi Kuti and many more, its literarilly unmissable!
