In case you’ve forgotten who he is, Eedris Abdulkareem was the third member of defunct group ‘The Remedies‘. The Jaga Jaga singer was on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily show over the weekend where he was promoting his new album ‘G2G.’
The singer said the album was a call for Nigerians to get behind President Goodluck Jonathan in the run up to the 2015 presidential elections.
Eedris who got into hot water previously with former President Olusegun Obasanjo when he sang, Nigeria Jaga Jaga, criticising his administration of mismanaging the country said that President Jonathan was a victim of propaganda because he is from the Niger Delta.
He praised the President for working on infrastructure in the country saying, “This Lagos-Ibadan expressway has been there for fifteen years by the former Minister of Works, Baba Tony Anenih and they didn’t do anything.”
“Goodluck is doing that road. That is a Federal government road. He is working on it. Our airport has been reformed.”
“Thirdly our agricultural sector- farmers never got their fertilizer directly but today they get their fertilizer. fertilizer is now a big business. So it is important we say all these things because most people don’t know. We all know that the insecurity is propaganda. ”
President Jonathan has been heavily criticised for his handling of the missing Chibok girls and the state of security in Nigeria due to incessant attacks by terrorist group Boko Haram.
