Primers are important when it comes to foundations. They help prep your skin, protect your skin and create an even base for a flawless makeup application. I used to always skip my primer and wondered why my nose was shiny after 1 hour. Now I get at least 10 hours if I want to without touch ups.
If you’re on the look out for a good primer to add to your kit, here are some of my tried and tested primers
Mac cosmetics prep and prime skin base visage £21- My favourite foundation for going to special occasions where there are going to lots of pictures, sweating e.t.c. Goes on smooth, last a very long time and give a subtle glow
Rimmel London Stay Matte Primer £6- Affordable, works great and helps makeup last about 8 hours
Nyx angel veil primer £15– Semi affordable, goes on smooth, works just as good as the mac primer
Becca Ever-matte Priming Perfector £28- A bit more pricey that the rest but works great. Maybe a little too good but those with particularly oily skin will love it. If you have dry or combination skin, you might want to stay away from this one
Rimmel Match Perfection Fix & Perfect Primer £7- similar to the other Rimmel primer, this one is a bit moisturising so great for those with dry skin. It’ll also help your makeup last about 6 hours
