According to OK! Magazine, EastEnders star Khali Best who plays the role of Walford’s newest mechanic Dextor Hartman has been suspended from the soap for three months.
According to the magazine, the 26-year-old actor is being punished allegedly for his antics backstage and outside of work.
An insider told the Daily Star “We won’t go into details but his conduct outside of work has not been good at all and is a threat to the show.” The show’s boss Dominic Treadwell- Collins was reportedly unhappy with Best’s conduct lately with reports that the star previously turned up to work late also adding to his troubles.
A spokesperson for the BBC declined to elaborate on the exact reason why Best was being suspended saying, “Khali Best has been suspended from EastEnders for three months. We will not comment any further on this matter.”
The suspension will be a big blow to the actor who recently triumphed at the National television awards in January, taking home the Best Newcomer Category for his role on EastEnders
The Show’s bosses are hoping the three-month suspension will give the young actor enough time to get his act together and hopefully get back to doing what he does best.
This won’t be the first time a member of the hit BBC soap will be suspended. Only last month, fellow actor Ricky Norwood who plays the role of Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubb was also suspended for two months after a video emerged of him smoking cannabis.
Following these events, one has to wonder what exactly is going on in the minds of Walford’s young residents?
