East London Fashion Shows hosts SS14 EVENT

by Karine Laudort-Idonije

Due to popular demand, industry recognised stylist Wynter Heayes will be showcasing her fourth instalment of innovative, London-based designers. Highlighting the most celebrated trends of Spring/Summer 14 in womenswear and menswear.

Housed in a unique space, in the vibrant hub of Hackney, the re-developed railway station aesthetic of collaborating bar Oslo, is the perfect backdrop to explore light-refracting pieces and dusted ice-cream palettes. The exposed brick and industrialism is synonymous with the raw talent of this set of emerging designers.

Renowned for bringing together a pool of Art and Fashion enthusiasts alike, East London Fashion Shows is a hit with creatives and is a fantastic platform for networking. Complemented by live music, the show will present pieces by designer Danielle Jade Richards, recently featured in iconic Fashion publications such as iD Magazine.

Highly conceptual and abstract interpretations of holographic materials, with metallic accents can be expected from London based Poppy Gooderick. Showcasing key trend translation, Gooderick incorporates unconventional materials and textures, in turn with an expert focus on detail to create exhilarating results.

Contrasting the contemporary, comes Menswear label Helen Anthony’s renewal of the classic Menswear silhouette. Sharp and clean-cut, anticipate pastel tailoring in abundance. Combining striking individualism, with a nod to classic tailoring, the results are compelling. Re-visit the technological designs of Natalie Wilkins. Receiving impressive reviews following the exhibition of her collection ‘Objectifying the Female Form’ at Graduate Fashion Week.

Expect to see an intelligent and creative, concept driven collection, this time in collaboration with celebrated textiles designer Emma Scott. An ambient medium reflecting Spring/Summer 14’s most thought-provoking trends, it’s an event not to be missed.

When? Friday 29th August at live music venue and bar, Oslo, Hackney.

Doors open swiftly at 7pm

Catwalk runs from 8-9pm with live music and DJ hosted after party.
