Chelsea FC star Didier Drogba threw a gala dinner for his charity the Didier Drogba Foundation. The event which drew some of the biggest names in football including Thiery Henry, Gary Cahill and Jarmain Dafoe took place at the Dorchester in Mayfair on Saturday night right after the Man United/ Chelsea Match. American singer Christina Milian performed for guests at the dinner attended by the likes of Hollywood actor Djimon Honsou, Fuse ODG and presenter Ayden of French TV channel Be Black who co hosted the show with Sarah Jane Crawford.
The Didier Drogba foundation was set up by the footballer to raise money for disadvantaged communities in his native country Cote d’Ivoire. Guests wanting to attend the ball were allowed to bid for a chance to sit at the same table with the likes of Thiery Henry, while those lucky enough to attend bid for items in the auction which ranged from exclusive football memorabilia to a private party in Ibiza with Calvin Harris. All the profits raised go towards paying for education for less privileged kids as well as building mobile clinics in the East African country.
