Can You Be Christian, African and Gay?

MAGDA’S LESBIAN LOVER© – SUBMITTED AT THIS YEAR’S ZAFAA FILM FESTIVAL LONDON

A Nollywood film which explores the possibility of being Christian and a lesbian is to be screened at this year’s ZAFAA awards, an award which recognises the best in the ethnic film industry.

Magda’s Lesbian Lover – MLL © a short film which  pushes the boundaries of Nollywood film making  was previously screened at Central Illinois University & Davis University Feminist Film Festivals 2013 & Miami Gay and lesbian film festival (USA) 2013 and in 2014 was an official London Pride 2014 event which took place at Raindance  Film Center .

Magda’s lesbian lover is a christian lesbian short film by Sword Of the Spirit Films.

Part of the London Nollywood film circuit, it looks at the challenges of a lesbian relationship between  Magda played by ( French Nigerian Ace actress ) Sabrina Chiemeka and Katarina played by (Swedish Actress ) Selma Glassell  .

Filmed in 2012 and completed in 2013, the short was directed by German American Will Moore and written by Nigerian Elizabeth Obisanya, a gay rights campaigner who has been actively campaigning for equal rights for gay people from Africa.

Gay people in Nigeria face a jail term if they are convicted while many face persecution in other parts of Africa.
