She’s done it again. Bey has gone and surprised us with another unexpected single over the weekend. This time, Beyoncé teamed up with rap queen Nicki Minaj for a remix of her hit ‘Flawless‘ which famously featured Chimamanda Adichie’s Ted talk on feminism.
In the 4 minute skit, Bey raps about the infamous elevator spat between her sister and hubby Jay Z where Solange physically assaulted Jay Z.
Her line, “Of course sometimes shit goes down when there’s a billion dollars on an elevator,” in widely perceived to be in reference to the media uproar that followed the incident.
The couple have since stated that they’re ‘just like any other family’ out there and sometimes, sh**t happens.
Beyoncè is historically very good at lacing her lyrics with hidden digs and meanings and the fans are very much up for the challenge as people sift through her songs to decipher what lies beneath.
The mum of one got tongues wagging last month after changing the lyrics in one of her songs Resentment as speculation rose as to whether or not Jay Z cheated on her with another woman (singer Mia was the prime suspect). But, she has since come out to debunk the rumours that she’s the ‘other’ woman in Jay Z’s life saying people were just envious of the couple’s success.
