General elections are fast approaching in Nigeria as President Goodluck Jonathan’s term slowly winds to an end. The elections, which are due to be held on 14 Febuary 2015 will see the incumbent leader go head to head with former military dictator General Muhammadu Buhari.
While Nigerians prepare for the elections, arguably one of the most important in the country’s history, a few notable citizens will be skipping all the action, in favour of colder climes in the UK.
As Nigeria heads to the polls, on that same day, the Hammersmith Apollo in London will be receiving August visitors Basketmouth, Wizkid, and Mr Badoo a.k.a Olamide. The Valentine’s day event tagged the ‘Doctor Love’ tour will see the popular comedian performing with music stars in Manchester and London.
While the stars will be giving UK fans one blast of a Lagos party sponsored by GTBank (believed to give students free tickets), Nigeria’s general vote would have come to an end just making it impossible for the stars to vote for Buhari or Jonathan.
Next time Goodluck.
