When will it end?
The state of Florida is in shock today after an unnamed gunman opened fire at students studying for their exams at Florida State University early Thursday morning.
Officers reported receiving a phone call from the university at about 12.05am of shots fired inside the library buislding where up to 400 students were studying. One student recalled to CNN the chaos that ensued after the gunman opened fire.
“We heard the gunshots, and then it was in a matter of seconds the entire first floor just seemed to go into chaos. It was very scary. I’m just more heartbroken than anything else. FSU means a lot to me.”
Three people were wounded during the incident and one of them is said to be in critical condition in hospital.
The gunman was killed outside the building afterPolice returned fire when he shot at them after refusing to drop his weapon. It is not clear what the shooter’s background is at the moment, only that he is male and was armed.
The US is struggling to stem the recent spike in school shootings and this will only stir up the debate on gun control and gun laws as the nation comes to terms with the aftermath of yet another gun related crime.
