Be Honest, we got you with that headline, didn’t we?
The pregnant star in the midst of the ongoing leaked Nudes scandal purposely posted up a naked picture on Instagram, showing off her baby bump with a white peace sign drawn on. The star ditched her clothes bravely in hopes of raising awareness for a variety of social justice issues, from gun control to gay rights. The 33-year-old ‘No One’ star pregnant with her second child with Husband Swizz Beatez uploaded the picture captioned, “It’s you and me on a mission to create a kinder and more peaceful world,” she wrote. “The #WeAreHere Movement begins today.”
Alicia Keys launched the movement on Sunday at the 92nd Street in New York City as part of the two-day UN Foundation’s Social Good Summit. The singer spoke on the reasons for the movement stating that, “We all want to do something but oftentimes we don’t feel empowered. That is why I created ‘We Are Here.’ Because it’s not about me. It’s about we.”
She added, “I felt that if we could gather a group of really powerful organizations, how many people would want to come out and say ‘I believe in that,’ or ‘That’s important to me?’ People want to be awakened. So we are here to manifest and empower our community.”
Many famous stars have joined the movement posting up their own pictures on Instagram but rather than nudes, celebrities are all holding up boards stating their reasons for supporting the ‘we are here movement‘. Artists such as Sean Penn, Jimmy Fallon, Usher and Kelly Rowland, Pharrell Williams and Madonna are just some of the artists who have shown support.
Pharell Williams in his support for the movement posted a picture with a board which read “I am here to serve humanity with humility”. The singer boosted up the cause by personally pledging $1 million. As well as urging her fans to be part of the movement “I want all of us to take the ‘We Are Here’ peace pledge to support this great work.”
