Afros, Beauty And Style At The Keziah Connects Second Anniversary Party

Nothing excites us here at Naija Living than a room packed full of beautiful and powerful women of colour, because you just know great things are gonna happen!

That’s exactly what we got at Keziah Connects second anniversary birthday party which held in July at Debenhams Oxford Street.

The event was held in conjunction with Fashion Fair UK, hair brand Sensationnel and Spell Magazine and it was amazing!

Natalie Clue (Beauty Blogger and the beautiful founder of Keziah Connects) looked absolutely stunning in a silk print iro and buba by Trims and beyond at StyleMeUp Network which she paired nicely with a pair of strappy pink heels.

Natalie is the author of award winning blog Beauty Pulse London. She’s an avid campaigner of  media diversity and better representation of women of colour in the beauty industryand has written for the likes of  Company magazine and Stylist.

Natalie started Keziah Connects to provide a platform for women of colour to meet and network with the aim of working together, empowering one another and forging productive partnerships.

The event, now in its second year has become a magnet for high flying women of colour with notable guests including Journalist Bim Adewumi, Ronke Adeyemi of Brown Beauty Talk and popular bloggers Segun of LotionsPotionsMe and Jo of PatentPurple

The team at Fashion Fair treated the ladies to a free make over and even offered a quick tutorial on matching your skin to the right foundation, which of course meant a lot of ladies went home looking runway ready.

We were inspired by Connie Jackson ,general manager of Fashion Fair UK (and Havard graduate…ahem!) who urged the ladies to be the best they can be and take the best care of their skin. Connie stated that beauty brands needed to start taking the needs of women of colour more seriously and called for feedback on how to make the industry more receptive to the needs of the consumers.

Enough of the talking, here’s some of the fun we had, so make sure you attend the next Keziah Connects event!

Make over time!
