On Friday 24th April 2015 strategically held on Fashion Revolution Day, Social Enterprise Africa Fashion Guide will for the first time host a full day conference event! Held in London where the conferences started in 2011, and consisting of 6 panel discussions with international industry leaders – our Fashion Africa Conference 2015 is titled An African Revolution. The seminar event will act as a means to discuss and promote the full supply chain of African Fashion Design, Textiles, and Manufacturing and thus communicate this to a larger, global audience through media.
Speakers include Hannah Pool, Arieta Mujay, H&M’s Tobias Fischer, Samson Soboye and many more. Hollywood actress Rosario Dawson is also expected to speak at this year’s fashion Africa Conference. The Conference and Seminars were created to be a catalyst in the industry to help change perceptions of the fashion and textile industry in Africa and to ask those in Africa working in garment design and textile manufacturing what they think and need with the aim of keeping these discussions ongoing in different locations annually where international industry leaders can connect, do business and initiate change.
Organisers of this year’s event are hoping the conference will act as a revolutionary vehicle to create a social forum for all those attending to talk openly and share ideas, information and expertise, to raise awareness and elevate the perception of design from the African continent.
The event will be centred around the areas of these sub-topics Sustainability, African Fashion Manufacturing, Responsible Sourcing, Africa’s Retail Market and the new target consumer market, The Growth of the African Designer market, Africa as New Luxury.
