As we get into the warmer months, dark dull colours are less popular and we see a rise in bright colours, pastels and especially white! If you are struggling with ideas on how to add white into your colour palette or just want some new ideas, here are 5 white trends to try.
1. White Nails
All white nails are great for Summer! White, first of all, goes with any colour so you never have to worry about clashing with your outfit is definitely an easy way of adding white to your Summer colours. Don’t like the idea of your whole nail being white? A French manicure provides a chic, classic look that isn’t too over-powering or if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, try adding some nail art over a white base for a more fun, creative look! Be careful though, white nails can get dirty very easily and require a little bit more maintenance than a darker colour would.
2. The Button Down
White button downs have been a staple in most of our wardrobes forever and a great way to add white to an outfit. During these hotter months you can have a bit more fun with the white button down shirt and play around with fabrics and styles. Try a white cropped shirt or one with mesh or lace detailing to be on trend for Summer 2014.
3. The LWD
Move over LDB the LWD (little white dress) is taking over for Summer. Fresh, light, and simple little white dresses are perfect for the warmer months. Just slip one on, add a cute pair of shoes and you are ready to go. The great thing about white dresses is that there are so many styles to choose from and you can also play around with colour elsewhere. Try adding prints and bold colours to your shoes and bags for a fun take on the look. Alternatively if you don’t fancy wearing a dress, try a jumpsuit or playsuit as those are also super cute for Summer.
4. White Shoes
I personally love a white shoe moment in the Summer. You’ll probably find a pair of white sports shoes like converses or vans in nearly everyone’s wardrobe and these are the perfect Summer casual shoe. Comfort is so important when running errands or going to things like festivals which are extremely popular in the Summer! For a more dressed up look, a white sandal heel with an ankle strap is probably one of the sexiest shoes going at the moment or a white pump with a pointed toe – absolutely gorgeous!
5. Head to toe white
This trend is all the range for the Summer and I believe there is a way that all of us can wear all white, it’s just about finding the right pieces. My first of piece of advice is to make sure your pieces aren’t skin tight as white is the least forgiving colour of them all! If you do want to wear something tight, balance the look with something looser – for example if you go for white skinny jeans, pair them with a loose blouse to keep the look elegant and chic. If you manage to pull of all white, all eyes will definitely be on you!
