In the last few years, a number of girl groups have come unto the music scene after legendary groups including Salt -N- Pepa, Destiny’s Child and the Spice Girls threw down the gauntlet. On the urban scene, most notably, we’ve seen a new talents like Little Mix take the world by storm after winning the X Factor.
With the launch of their début album STAY On TEN this month, American girl group CURLY FRYZ may well be the new talent to watch. Their style is a mix of Rihanna, Nicki Minaj with a bit of Bey.
Hailing from South Florida and New York City via Los Angeles, CURLY FRYZ consist of singer Dani and rapper Charli.
Dani from CURLY FRYZ gained notable recognition in 2012 when the then 18 year old wrote, directed and starred along side Charli in the official Prince video forBreakfast Can Wait, the acclaimed first single taken from his brand new album ART OFFICIAL AGE which was released at the end of 2014.
The dynamic duo began as two passionate and hard-working young girls attending performance art school and competition dance studios then evolving into dancers working with Prince, Rihanna, Pharrell and Missy Elliot amongst others. Dani and Charli progressed into songwriters and choreographers in their own right after moving to LA at the tender ages of 15 and 17 where they began to use their dance talents and urban culture references to form CURLY FRYZ.
Radiating talent and skill CURLY FRYZ have also become video directors and producers, resulting in the phenomenal video for STAY ON TEN.
We predict big things for this duo.
