15 Chibok Girls Given Scholarships In Former Nigerian VP Atiku Abubakar’s AUN Academy

Former Nigerian Vice President Atiku Abubakar has announced on Twitter that his academy, American University of Nigeria (AUN) has given scholarships to 15 of the girls who escaped Boko Haram captivity.

The APC chieftain posted a photo showing students at the University including some girls, although it isn’t clear if these are some of the girls.

He also thanked ‘good spirited individuals,’ who he said had raised funds ‘for a worthy cause’.

Over 25 girls were abducted from their dormitory at a school in Chibok in April by terrorist group Boko Haram. Some of the girls have managed to escape since the kidnapping although many still remain missing as fears grow for their safety.

In a series of tweets showing solidarity to the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, the politician and former presidential hopeful said he was thankful to be able to spend time with his daughters and urged people to keep praying for the return of the girls.

Well don Atiku. Some will say is political, but I will say let all play politics like this for the benefit of the ordinary Nigerians. Kudos Atiku Abubakar you are always setting the lead for others to follow.
